derek’s 1978 Chevrolet c20 scottsdale

the 1978 Chevy C20 Scottsdale is one of those trucks that just refuses to quit. It came out of the era when GM was building trucks with square bodies, big blocks, and a whole lot of attitude. The Scottsdale trim was right in the middle of the lineup—nothing too flashy, but not bare-bones either. It’s got just enough chrome to catch your eye, but it’s still all business.

Back in ’78, you could get one of these with a 350 (what’s in Derek’s truck) or 400 small-block, or if you really wanted to haul, a big ol’ 454. Ours is built to work, and it’s still got that heavy-duty suspension, eight-lug wheels, and a stance that just looks like it can handle anything you throw at it. And honestly, it can. Whether it’s towing, hauling, or just cruising to the parts store, this truck earns its keep.

There’s something timeless about the way this thing looks—those boxy lines, steel bumpers, and that old-school Chevy grille. You won’t find touchscreens or lane assist here. Just steel, bolts, and the kind of mechanical honesty that’s getting harder to find these days.

It’s not just a truck to us—it’s a reminder of why we do what we do. Reliable, tough, and unapologetically old-school. That’s the vibe we’re about.

Fun Fact: Derek’s Truck has an original Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 8200 lbs.!
